Kids Alive

Aim of Lakeshore Children’s Ministry

The aim of the Children’s ministry programme at Lakeshore is for every child to be encouraged to grow in their understanding of God and His love for them shown in the Lord Jesus. God calls parents and grandparents to train their children in the way of the Lord, and we are pleased to partner with families in this role.

Kids Spots

A short children’s presentation aimed to teach a biblical truth occurs fortnightly during the first part of the Sunday meeting.

Kids Alive Crèche

A Crèche is available for children 2.5 years and under during the whole service. The air-conditioned room has age appropriate toys, change table facilities and a speaker which enables the service to be heard. Crèche helpers care for the young children during the second half of the service. All helpers wear an ID card lanyard, so they can be easily recognised. Parents are required to sign their child in and out of the Crèche room when left to be cared for by the helpers.

Kids Alive JAM, JUMP and GIG

During the second half of the service a programme for children aged 2.5 years to Grade 7 is run in the child care centre next door to the church. Parents are required to register their child on the sign in/out sheet before the service. Please ensure a registration form is completed for each child. Also please note children 9 years and older may sign themselves in and out provided a parental permission form has been completed.

When it is time for the programme, the service leader will direct children to meet outside. Children will then be taken by the teachers and helpers to the child care centre. All teachers and helpers wear an ID card lanyard, so they can be easily recognised. At the end of the church service parents are required to collect their child from the child care centre and sign the sign in/out register.

An offering is collected during the children’s programme so please encourage your child to bring some money for the collection. This money is used to support Stefany our compassion sponsor child.

Once a term JAM, JUMP and GIG combine for Kids Alive UNITED. The UNITED events are themed and involve: the children dressing up; live worship music; bible stories; memory verses and interactive games.  The term programme curriculum is called kids@church. It is a bible centred resource which teaches and engages children in a meaningful way. The topics for 2010 are tabulated below.
