Passage: Overview of Ephesians.
Seeing Christ and experiencing his love is the ONLY path to growth and maturity. Only then will be experience the power to stand so that we may walk. Only when we are filled with God himself and his power (first and second prayer) will we be able to imitate him (5:1-2) and be a visible demonstration to the world of who he is (3:21).

Passage: Revelation 1:9-20
As we launch into 2012 its a good time to ask ourselves “what are we living for?” or maybe the better question is “who are we living for?”.

Passage: Mark 10:35-45.
Jesus redefines the pathway to Glory, not to rule but to serve. Our motto should be not for ourselves but for others.

Starting in February we will be starting our study through the book of Ephesians. Ephesians is a letter written by Paul from prison in Rome (Acts 28) in A.D 62. The letter is written to the Christians at Ephesus. You can read about the Gospel going to Ephesus in Acts 19.
John Stott says: “The letter focuses on what God did through the historical work of Jesus Christ and does through his Spirit today, in order to build his new society in the midst of the old.”
His analysis:
- The new life which God has given us in Christ (1:3-2:10)
- The new society which God has created through Christ (2:11-3:21)
- The new standards which God expects of his new society, especially unity and purity (4:1-5:21)
- The new relationships into which God has brought us – harmony in the hone and hostility to the devil (5:21-6:24)
The title of our series is ‘New Life – New Living’ which is meant to capture the theme of the book. May we all be strengthened in our knowledge of the ‘New Life’ we have in Christ so that it is expressed in ‘New Living.’
