Speaker: L-T Hopper
Passage: Isaiah 66

In Isaiah 66 Isaiah reminds us who God is. He shows us what it means to be fake in relationship with God and if we are what we can expect. He also shows us what it means to have a real relationship with God and if we do what to expect.

Isaiah #15 Two ways to live.
L-T Hopper on Sunday, September 4th, 2011

Speaker: L-T Hopper.
Passage: Isaiah 65.

When I was a boy I was painfully shy. If someone came to the door of our house my sister would run to the door and I would run to my bedroom. These two responses represent the two responses we can have to God when he turns up. In Isaiah 64 Isaiah prayed to God for Him to come down. Isaiah 65 is a response to that prayer.

Passage: Isaiah 61

God is the god of change. Change is the character of the Christian life. God has often raised up change agents throughout history. His change agent par excellence is Jesus. We see him described so clearly around 800 years beforehand in Isaiah 61.

Passage: Isaiah 55

In Isaiah 55 we have an open invitation from God to the whole world to come to him and be satisfied and know where you are going.

This is the last in our series in Isaiah 40-55. God through Isaiah has been telling his people to trust in him alone. Let’s now look at Isaiah 55.

Isaiah #7 Salvation through Substitution
L-T Hopper on Sunday, March 27th, 2011

Speaker: L-T Hopper.
Passage: Isaiah 52:13-53:12.

Today we are thinking about two things that cannot mix. Two things that cannot go together.

God and people. Well I should say a holy God and unholy people. A perfect God and imperfect people. Sinless God and sinful people. This is the issue of the Bible from Genesis 3.

Today in Isaiah 53 we are going to discover the answer to the question:

How can sinful people who deserve the anger of God come into a relationship with him?

This is the issue of Isaiah to this point. God through Isaiah has been making promises and so now we discover how the promises can come true for guilty people.
