Passage: Eph:4
It is at this time of the year we are planning the rest of the year. It is good to plan things so that we are not constantly reacting to life but setting priorities and being proactive in living out those priorities. So today we are going to look at what are our priorities as a church. We are going to do that by looking at our ‘mission statement.’ Our mission statement is:- Living for Jesus by making, maturing and mobilising disciples.

Passage: John
Through what ever reason people’s assumptions of Jesus are often very different to who he really is.
Jesus came and had many and varied ‘cards’ he left showing who he was. His miracles and teachings were like his business cards telling us who he is. In this passage his card reads: The promised King and Saviour. If he is King then he is our king and demands a response of devotion to him. A picture of this devotion is what we discover in this passage.

‘For the Love of God’ by Don Carson is a very helpful resource. It is based on a plan to read the Bible in a year with a reflection on one of the passages for the day. It is available online here or you can get it in Two Volumes.
I find having a plan helps me keeps me going each day.
